Alopecia universalis is the complete loss of all head and body hair.

Alopecia Totalis is the loss of hair on the scalp and face.

Alopedia Areata is the patchy, partial loss of scalp hair, often associated with loss of brows and eye lashes.

What we do to help clients with Alopecia is to apply Permanent Make up to the brows and apply eyeliner top and bottom to the lash areas.

We have been doing this treatment for Alopecia clients for over 10 years.

One incredible side effect is that once the client has healed in the area, ether brows or lash liner, hair begins to grow.

Rather than being bummed by my lack of mobility, I am taking this opportunity to read, study, and evaluate all the components of our business. I’m thankful that I spent the last 8 months building muscle and getting in shape because I think it’s going to speed my recovery. I am however having a hard time sitting still with my leg up so I  tend to swell a bit. Larry is doing a great job playing nurse and getting me to behave.

Some things I’ve decided:

1. The Body Rx Nutrition Plan is phenominal.  I now have the time to work on the website and develop the recipe pages and on-line support system.

2. We all need back up plans when exercise is not possible. Consuming high quality calories and sticking to eating 5-6 small meals a day is so important.

3. Planning your meals and snacks in advance will help to prevent over-eating.

4. Include a bit of protein at every meal to keep you satisfied for longer.

5. Read inspiring books and magazines. Some of my favourites are: Clean Eating, Oxygen magazine, Fitness Rx magazine, anything from the Biggest Loser series. This week I just read BelieveIt, Be It by Ali Vincent (the first female winner of the Biggest Loser). She tells a great story and adds some insight on the emotional issues behind over-eating…something I think most of us can relate to.
