Hydrafacial™
Your Skin’s New Best Friend
Hydrafacial™ is a non-invasive procedure that combines the benefits of exfoliation, extraction, and hydration, rejuvenating your skin in just one session!
Hydrafacials work to:
- Cleanse away impurities
- Saturate your skin with revitalizing serums
- Diminish fine lines and blemishes
- Restore a radiant and youthful glow
Hydrafacials can be enjoyed at our Edmonton, Kelowna, and St. Albert locations!
How does it work?
Hydrafacial™ delivers a rejuvenating skincare experience with 3 simple steps:
Cleanse: The treatment begins with a gentle exfoliation to remove dead skin cells and impurities from the surface of your skin. A gentle peel is applied to uncover a new layer of skin.
Extract: Using a vacuum-like mechanism in the wand, the device extracts impurities, including blackheads and whiteheads, from your pores. (This step is painless!)
Hydrate: Unlike traditional facials, Hydrafacial™ simultaneously infuses the skin with hydrating serums and antioxidants. These nourishing serums are tailored to your specific skin needs, helping to plump, hydrate, and protect your skin!
Hydrafacial™ boosters are available to firm, brighten and restore your skin. Ask your aesthetician about our jelly mask add-ons for an extra boost of hydration!
At External Affairs, we understand that each individual's skincare needs are unique, that’s why we offer a range of Hydrafacial™ options! Whether you're looking for a quick pick-me-up or a comprehensive skin revitalization session, we provide the perfect solution!

Avoid wearing makeup or skincare products on the day of your treatment. This will allow the esthetician to better assess your skin and ensure that the treatment is tailored to your specific needs.
If you have a history of cold sores, please notify the esthetician so they can prescribe medication to prevent an outbreak. While a Hydrafacial treatment itself will not trigger an outbreak, the added stress of the treatment may cause an outbreak in people who are prone to them. If you have a history of cold sores, consider beginning prophylactic treatment with Valtrex or similar no later than the day of treatment.
Avoid excess sun exposure, including tanning beds for 1 week before treatment, and use SPF 30 or greater daily to ensure coverage against UVB and UVA rays.

Refrain from any chemical peels or lasers for 2 weeks prior.
Discontinue use of Tretinoin type products (Renova, Tretinoin, Retin A, Retin A Micro, Tri-Luma, Solage, etc.) at least 2 days before treatment.

It’s advised to wait 2 weeks after Botox® and filler treatments to have a Hydrafacial™ treatment. If you’re wanting to get Botox® and filler done on the same day as your Hydrafacial™ treatment, it can be done but your injections have to be after the Hydrafacial treatment.

Hydrafacial™ takes less than one hour to complete and the effects are visible for about one week. You will immediately see results after your first session, but more than one session can be beneficial. For long term skin health, we recommend including treatment as part of your monthly skincare routine!
To reduce the effects of aging or to remove dark spots from the skin, a Hydrafacial™ can be combined with other clinical treatments customized especially for you and your needs!
