Microneedling
Improve your skin’s tone and texture.
Whether your skin is showing signs of wrinkles, the sun is wreaking havoc on your skin tone, or you want to minimize acne and chicken pox scars, microneedling can help.
Microneedling is a skin rejuvenation treatment that naturally helps trigger collagen and elastin synthesis within the skin. This rejuvenation technique provides a natural solution for improving wrinkles, fine lines, acne, acne scarring, age spots, and sun damage.
Stimulate collagen naturally.
Microneedling harnesses the skin’s natural healing ability, stimulating cell proliferation and the formation of new collagen to create a thicker, stronger cellular matrix which results in radiant and younger looking skin. Benefits include:
- Non-surgical, minimally invasive procedure
- Increases collagen and elastin production
- Treats acne and cystic acne
- Treats scarring
- Reduces oil production and blackheads
- Improves skin texture and tone immediately
- Exfoliates the skin
- Reduces fine lines and wrinkles
How Microneedling Works
A medical procedure that’s designed to stimulate the body’s natural healing, microneedling (also known as collagen-induction therapy) involves targeted microtrauma. Using a pen-like device equipped with over 10 tiny, vibrating needles, microneedling repeatedly punctures the first layer of skin to trigger collagen and elastin production and the generation of new skin cells.
While it sounds painful, the procedure is actually quite gentle and can even be done around the eyes, where sensitivity is high. Generally, three to five treatments are needed to achieve desired results, but the treatment plan varies per individual.
What to Expect on Your First Visit
Microneedling involves piercing the skin repeatedly with tiny needles using a pen-like device. The needles pierce your skin about 2mm deep to trigger your natural healing response and evoke collagen and elastin production. Before your treatment, stay out of the sun for 24 hours, avoid taking any auto-immune medications for 24 hours, and arrive with a clean face and no makeup.
A topical numbing cream is applied before the procedure to ensure discomfort is minimal. Microneedling itself is minimally invasive and feels akin to having sandpaper rubbed on your face. Afterwards, your skin may be red and feel tight (like a sunburn). Results are immediate and continue to improve up to four weeks post-treatment. You may need up to six treatments to achieve your best results.
