Frequently Asked Questions

V-Lase FAQ’s.

I am on birth control pills, can I still get V-lase treatment?

Yes.

Can women who are breast feeding undergo V-Lase?

Yes, it does not affect breastmilk.

Who is a candidate for V-Lase?

There are no age restrictions, the V-Lase treatment is safe for all pre and postmenopausal women. If you are suffering from vaginal atrophy and experiencing painful sexual intercourse, vaginal dryness, itchiness, irritation, or loss of bladder control, then you are a candidate for V-Lase.

Is V-Lase ok for pregnant women?

No. We don't recommend this procedure for pregnant women.

Can I continue using estrogen vaginal creams?

No. Cease use of any vaginally applied estrogen cream the day before treatment. The cream will interfere with the laser beam during the procedure. Use of the cream can be continued the day following treatment, but women may no longer need to use estrogen cream after a series of three laser treatments.

Should pubic hair be trimmed prior to V-lase treatment?

Yes, patients should trim public hair before treatment.

Can women who are menstruating undergo V-Lase?

Yes. Any excess moisture/blood will be removed from the vaginal canal immediately before the procedure (and in between passes) so it will not interfere with the laser beam.

Can V-Lase be used to improve episiotomies or other types of perineal scars?

Yes. The V-Lase treatment has been shown to soften skin (including scar tissue).

Can V-Lase be used to treat PGAD (persistent genital arousal disorder)?

Yes.

Can the O-Shot be done in conjunction with V-Lase?

Yes. When done immediately after V-Lase, the O-shot further enhances the nerve sensitivity of the clitoris, further enhancing, and offering additional improvement of stress urinary incontinence (SUI).

Can a patient who has a vaginal mesh implant undergo V-Lase?

Yes. The heat from the laser beam will not be high enough to damage the mesh material.

Is V-Lase treatment safe for women with IUDs?

Yes. The IUD is located in the uterine cavity, away from the vaginal cavity with the laser energy being blocked by thick cervical tissue.
