Ultherapy: A Non-invasive Way to Lift & Tighten Your Skin

While Botox and fillers have proven themselves effective for age reversal for the face, what about below your jawline? Not only do our necks have thinner and weaker skin, we also tend to omit caring for them.

Many patients, in their mid-thirties or forties, begin to notice that their complexion starts to relax and loses elasticity, causing them to look older. This lack of elasticity can be noticed along the jawline, across the eyebrows, or in the eyelids. We forget to cleanse, exfoliate, and moisturize below our jawline daily.

Have you been searching for the perfect treatment for the neck and décolletage? After years of research, hard work, and trials of every injection, laser, and product out there, there has been nothing truly effective… until now!

Why Choose Us?

External Affairs Medical Spas are one of the only locations in the Edmonton and surrounding areas to provide Ultherapy.

We are passionate about combination therapy and we know that this method will give you the best possible results. We’ll be combining Ultherapy treatments with Radiesse and V2 Hydralift.

The majority of patients respond very well to one treatment, however some patients benefit from additional sessions, depending on their degree of laxity, age and own biological response to stimulating collagen.

What To Expect

During your first visit to External Affairs you will have a consultation to ensure you are a candidate. During your consultation you will fill out a medical profile listing any health issues or concerns. If you are a candidate, our registered nurse and clinical team will perform a treatment consultation with you.

During the consultation, they will listen to your concerns, and work within your budget to provide you with a detailed treatment plan and explanation of how Ultherapy will work.

All patients receiving Ultherapy receive one free syringe of Radiesse to the jawline or a V2 Hydralift procedure using Redensity 1 to the neck. We know that combination therapy offers the best result for the patient. During your treatment, after we cleanse the skin and identify the specific treatment area, we will determine the optimal placement of the treatment energy.

Our technician will begin to deliver focused ultrasound energy beneath the skin’s surface. The collagen-building process is initiated, once the energy is deposited into the skin at precise depths.

Frequently Asked Questions

Still not sure? Read our FAQ’s below.

How is Ultherapy different from other cosmetic procedures?

Ultherapy is the only non-surgical cosmetic procedure that uses focused ultrasound to stimulate the growth of new collagen deep within the skin.

The production of new collagen occurs over time, so results can become more apparent over three to six months. The procedure takes only about an hour for most patients, and there is no downtime.

It also is the only procedure to use ultrasound imaging, which allows us to actually see the layers of tissue we target during the treatment and ensure the energy is deposited precisely to where it will be most effective.

Does it hurt?

A recent software upgrade called “Ultherapy Amplify” now affords a more comfortable procedure. While comfort thresholds vary from patient to patient, most patients now report that the procedure is quite tolerable. If and when any discomfort does occur, it happens while the ultrasound energy is being delivered.

This sensation is temporary and is a positive signal that the collagen-building process has been initiated. We take measures to make the experience as pleasant as possible and patients tell us they leave comfortable and excited about the benefits to come.

How long does it last?

Patients treated with Ultherapy still have fresh young collagen after a year’s time following the procedure, but skin continues to age. Future touch-up treatments can help keep pace with the aging process, which varies by individual.

Are there any side effects?

There may be slight redness for up to an hour or so following the treatment, and a small percentage of patients may have slight swelling, tingling or tenderness to touch, but these are mild and temporary in nature.

Is Ulterapy Safe?

Ultherapy is the only FDA-Approved procedure that lifts and tightens the neck, chin and brow, and improves lines and wrinkles on the chest. There have been over 1 million Ultherapy treatments performed safely worldwide with a 95% client satisfaction rating. In addition, ultrasound energy has a proven track record, with use in the field of medicine for more than 50 years.
