Everything You Need To Know About Our Henna Brows Treatment
How great would it be to wake up every morning and already have your eyebrows good to go?With our henna brows treatment, you can temporarily tint your eyebrows in a painless and all-natural way, so they’re shaped every morning, with no need for pencils or powders. Here is everything you need to know about our henna brows treatment:
What is henna?
Henna is a powder made from the leaves of a small, flowering shrub. That powder is used to dye hair or temporarily stain skin.
Why are henna brows better than a brow tint?
Some people prefer to use henna over a traditional brow tint because henna is made with natural ingredients compared to other chemical dyes. In addition to being a naturally derived product, henna does not penetrate the cortex of the hair (the inner layer of the hair). Instead, henna coats each hair with the colour, smoothing the outer layers of the brow hairs giving the appearance of thicker and darker hair.
In addition to the benefits of the hairs themselves, henna is also able to stain the skin underneath the brow hairs a richer colour which gives the appearance of makeup on the brows that lasts longer than a tint.
How long does it take?
Henna brows take approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes. When you arrive your technician will bring you to your room, wipe off any makeup you make have in your brows, shampoo them to remove any dirt, debris and oils from the skin and then wipe with alcohol. After they are prepped, they will take before pictures and then use charcoal string to map out the brow shape, use a white eye pencil to trace the shape and create a barrier for the henna around the brow, mix up the proper colour for your skin type / hair colour.
The henna is then carefully applied and blowdried for 5 minutes as heat activates the henna, then it will sit on for an additional 15 minutes. After those 20 minutes, the henna will be removed and oil will be applied so we can perform a brow wax for optimal results. Lastly, after photos will be taken, your after care will be explained and you’ll be on your way with your new gorgeous eyebrows!
Will henna brows turn my eyebrows a reddish-brown?
By using high quality henna products your eyebrows will not turn bright orange or change colour over time. An added ingredient, Tinctoria, works alongside the henna to ensure consistent colours that remain true over time, avoiding oxidization as time goes on.
How much does it cost?
Henna brows cost $100. This includes the henna tinting followed by a brow wax.
Who can get this done?
Anyone can have henna brows done as long as you don’t have an allergy to henna. However people with very oily, or very dry skin will not hold the henna for as long, if at all. People who are thinking of having microblading or permanent brows done but are still on the fence of how it will look are perfect candidates for this service as it allows you to see what they may look like without the permanence.
How long does it last?
Henna lasts on the skin under the brow hairs for about 3-7 days and on the actual brow hairs for about 3-5 weeks depending on how fast your hair grows.
What is after care?
Do not use strong eye makeup removers for 48 hours on the brows as it may strip the colour
Do not rub, pull or pick at the treated area
Do not allow shampoo or conditioner to go on the brows for the first 24 hours
Avoid any heat treatments or facials that involve steaming for 24 hours
Avoid sunbathing for 24 hours, as this can cause the henna to fade or lighten
Avoid swimming and saunas for at least 24 hours after your treatment
Exposure to the sun or UV lights for long period can cause the henna to fade quicker
